Moanalua raises SBAC scores and hopes to continue

Moanalua High Schools Smarter Balanced Test Scores have skyrocketed last spring thanks to the class of 2019. The class of 2019 reached an all time high proficiency rate of 78 percent in Language Arts. This was a significant improvement from lasts years 74 percent, and placed Moanalua highest in the state for Language Arts Scores. The math proficiency rate has also

stayed a steady 44 percent in these last couple of years. That being said, Moanalua students cannot slow down now. 22 percent of language arts scores and a whopping 56 percent of math scores are still unable to reach the proficiency standard. The class of 2020 needs work harder now more than ever and strive to score even higher than last year. Hopefully, the class of 2021 and beyond can continue this trend and help improve scores. Students so far have been working diligently to learn new testing strategies, and SBAC scores should only rise.

Websites like Khan Academy offer practice equations and lessons both language arts and mathematics. By using outside sources, and through hard work, the students of Moanalua High School will surely be able to top the 2018 SBAC scores.
