Keep your eyes on the prize as the year comes to an end

After many months of hard work, Moanalua High School’s academic teams are finally seeing the fruits of their labors. Late afternoon practices and long nights

studying were truly a pain for many students participating in HOSA, DECA, FCCLA, MeneMAC, and Mock Trial, but now after a successful competitive

season, teachers and students alike are grateful for the time they had spent working on their scripts, role plays, practice tests, demonstrations, videos and slideshows. Moanalua’s Mock Trial Blue and Silver teams just took

both first and second place in their state competition, making history as the first school to compete against one another. The CTSO students won more than half

the awards possible at their recent state convention. Over the spring break, the video media students will travel to Seattle to participate in the national Student Television Network competition, an event that has always garnered them awards.

For all of us, it’s been a long three-fourths of the year. As we sail into the fourth and final quarter of this year, we will all begin to see how the effort we have put into our classes, clubs, sports, jobs, and just our everyday lives at home will

pay off in learning, growth and achievement. The key word here is “effort.” We have just more than two months left of school. Rather than work just to

“get by,” we should work hard enough to “get ahead.”
